AppRevu Help

Setup guide, API key instructions, FAQ, and security details for AppRevu — the App Store reviews dashboard for indie iOS developers.

1. Quick start (5 minutes)

  1. Sign up at /signup (no credit card)
  2. Connect your App Store Connect API key on the settings page (Key ID, Issuer ID, Private Key)
  3. See all your reviews in one dashboard — the last 90 days, sorted and filterable

2. Get an App Store Connect API key

AppRevu needs an ASC API key to fetch reviews and post replies on your behalf. App Manager role or higher is recommended.

  1. Open App Store Connect → Users and Access → Integrations → Keys
  2. Click Generate API Key
  3. Name: AppRevu, Access: App Manager or higher
  4. Click Generate → download the .p8 file (one-time download — save it!)
  5. Copy the Key ID and Issuer ID from the keys list
📝 Heads up: The .p8 file can only be downloaded once. If you lose it, you'll need to generate a new key.

3. Connect AppRevu to your ASC account

  1. Log in to AppRevu and open Settings
  2. Key ID: paste the Key ID (e.g., ABC123DEF4)
  3. Issuer ID: paste the Issuer ID (e.g., 12345678-1234-1234-1234-123456789012)
  4. Private Key: open the .p8 file in a text editor and paste the full content (including -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- and -----END PRIVATE KEY-----)
  5. Click Save

Once saved, head to the dashboard — your reviews will load in a few seconds.

🔐 Security: Your Private Key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored in the database. The encryption key lives in Cloudflare Secrets and cannot be read by anyone — including the operator.

4. AI reply suggestions

AppRevu uses Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5 to generate reply drafts for your reviews.

  1. Click the Reply button on any review
  2. Pick a tone:
    • ✨ Friendly — casual and warm
    • ✨ Professional — polite and formal
    • ✨ Grateful — expressive thanks
  3. Edit the suggestion if needed
  4. Click Send — it posts directly to App Store Connect
💡 Free plan: 3 AI suggestions per month. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited.

5. Slack / Discord notifications (Pro)

Get notified in Slack or Discord when new reviews come in. Pro only.

  1. Open the Review Notifications section in Settings
  2. Threshold: ★1 only / ★1-2 / ★1-3 / ★1-5 (all)
  3. Paste your Slack Webhook URL or Discord Webhook URL
  4. Click 🧪 Test to verify
  5. Save

AppRevu checks for new reviews every hour and sends notifications matching your threshold.

6. Why only the last 90 days?

By default, AppRevu shows reviews from the last 90 days. Reasons:

  • Older reviews are rarely actionable
  • Focus on what you can actually respond to
  • Reduces noise so important reviews stand out

App Store Connect itself, AppFollow, and Sensor Tower all use similar default windows.

7. Cancel & resume

You can cancel your subscription anytime from Settings → Subscription → Open Customer Portal.

  • Cancel anytime via Stripe Customer Portal
  • Pro features remain until the end of your billing period (no immediate loss of paid time)
  • If you change your mind, click Resume cancellation in Settings
  • Founding Member pricing is forfeited if you cancel and resubscribe later (regular pricing applies)

8. Security & encryption

  • 🔐 ASC API keys encrypted with AES-256-GCM at rest
  • 🔐 Master encryption key in Cloudflare Secrets (not readable from outside the Worker runtime)
  • 🔐 Payment data managed directly by Stripe (we never see your card)
  • 🔐 All traffic over HTTPS / TLS 1.3
  • 🔐 Runs on Cloudflare Workers global edge

9. FAQ

What can I do on the free plan?

Up to 3 apps, star rating filters, direct replies from the dashboard, and 3 AI reply suggestions per month. No credit card required.

Is the Founding Member pricing really locked forever?

Yes. The first 100 users can lock in $5/month or $50/year — permanently, as long as your subscription stays active.

What platforms does AppRevu support?

Anything in App Store Connect: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS apps are all supported.

My reviews aren't loading

Check that your API key has App Manager role or higher, and that Key ID / Issuer ID / Private Key were copied correctly. If the issue persists, please contact us.

Does AppRevu support multiple App Store Connect accounts?

Currently you can only register one ASC API key per AppRevu account. Multi-account support is on the roadmap.
